Tour Description
Our tour kicks off at 09:30 AM, with a pick-up at your accommodation. We'll set off towards the Tayrona National Natural Park via the Troncal del Caribe highway.
Upon arrival at the park's entrance in the Cañaveral sector, we will disembark to complete the necessary registration for each traveler and purchase the entry tickets.
We will proceed on a 20 to 30-minute walk inside the park leading us to Bahía Concha. The trek through the National Park offers a unique and unforgettable experience. As you journey along the paths, you'll find yourself fully immersed in nature, disconnected from the outside world.
The hike to Bahía Concha is serene and enjoyable, suitable for all visitors. It's crucial to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some steep and slippery sections typical of the tropical jungle. The sounds of birds and howler monkeys will accompany us throughout our journey. The vegetation is lush and diverse, and you'll encounter various species of plants and trees, such as the cedar tree, wax palm, and ceiba.
Aside from the rich vegetation, you may spot different animal species including iguanas, coatis, vibrantly colored birds, and if you're fortunate, perhaps an ocelot or jaguar. Along the way, you'll find several viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the park's beaches.
After navigating through the jungle, the rocky trail leads us to the coastline, where the scenery changes dramatically; we'll follow the pristine waters of the Caribbean Sea. Ultimately, after roughly half an hour of walking, you'll arrive at Bahía Concha. The beach is breathtaking, featuring white sand and crystal-clear waters in a deep turquoise hue. It's spacious and perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, and enjoying the sea.
We'll relish the beach from noon until around 03:00 PM. In Bahía Concha, there's a small area with shops offering food and drinks, as well as some basic amenities like showers and bathrooms. The guide will provide all necessary instructions for your visit. Concha Bay is truly unforgettable.
After unwinding on the beach and exploring the trails surrounding the bay on your own, we'll make our way back to the park's entrance, retracing our steps, to return to Santa Marta by approximately 04:00 PM.
