We will rendezvous at your hotel in Bogotá at 2:00 pm to commence our journey through the northern part of the city towards Zipaquirá. As we travel, the driver will narrate the route, while the urban panorama gradually transitions into stunning green landscapes, dotted with farmlands and grazing animals.
Our first destination is the awe-inspiring Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, a former salt mine transformed into a magnificent underground architectural masterpiece. We will descend 180 meters below the surface to marvel at the Stations of the Cross, illustrating the final steps of Jesus, and proceed to the Great Central Dome, home to the largest underground salt cross in the world.
The Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral, a symbol of faith for the miners who once labored there, is also an outstanding example of engineering and architecture. You can explore its remarkable corridors, chapels, and salt-carved sculptures, which depict biblical narratives and Colombia’s religious history.
Upon exiting the cathedral, take in the picturesque views of the town of Zipaquirá.
Around 06:30 pm, we will proceed to Andrés Carne de Res in Chía, a dynamic and colorful restaurant that embodies the vibrant culture and traditions of Colombia. Here, you'll have the chance to savor a variety of delectable Colombian dishes, enjoy live music, dancing, and the lively festive atmosphere that defines this iconic venue.
The tour and restaurant experience are self-guided and at your leisure. The driver will await you outside the restaurant to return to the hotel at approximately 12am.
