Embark on an exhilarating 8-hour nature excursion as we explore the enchanting Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita, perched at an altitude of 3,100 meters. This revered site was cherished by the indigenous Muiscas, who regarded it as a location of profound spiritual significance.
Our journey begins from Bogotá at approximately 08 AM, where we will traverse the breathtaking landscapes as we navigate through the majestic Andean mountains and delve into the lush greenery enveloping the lagoon.
The lagoon is situated in the municipality of Sesquilé, a mere 70 kilometers north of Bogotá. Upon our arrival, we will receive guidance on the trails leading to the mesmerizing lagoon. Our guide will accompany us as we admire the breathtaking natural beauty of this locale, where the legend of El Dorado springs to life. We will envision the ancient Muisca ceremonies, where gold objects and precious gems were cast into the lagoon's depths as offerings. Although these treasures have vanished, the site's magic and mystique persist, granting us stunning views from the lagoon's summit over the surrounding valleys.
