Meet our local guide at the designated spot at 10:30 a.m. for the morning shift or at 4:00 p.m. if you opt for the afternoon shift. The guide, fluent in both Spanish and English, will provide a brief overview of the tour, outlining what you will experience over the next two and a half hours.
We will kick off the tour at La Matuna, where you'll indulge in two local delights: ceviche and patacón with whey and cheese. This blend of fresh, local flavors is among the most iconic dishes of the region.
Next, we'll proceed to the Portal de los Dulces, a place rich in history and sweetness, where you can savor the traditional sweets of Colombia and the Caribbean region. The fusion of Spanish, African, and indigenous influences in these treats will amaze you.
The journey continues to the San Diego neighborhood, renowned for its culinary heritage. Here, you can taste the famous Cartagena fried foods, such as egg arepa, carimañola, and stuffed potato. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Cartagena soup, ideal for the city’s warm weather.
Our next destination is Plaza del Estudiante, where we’ll enjoy pandebono, a cheese bread hailing from Valle del Cauca. You’ll also get to sample natural Caribbean fruit juices, perfect for a refreshing break.
We’ll conclude our tour in Getsemaní, one of Cartagena’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Here, we'll try more arepas and you can savor a refreshing yuca beer. Lastly, don’t miss a cup of Colombian coffee, allowing you to end this culinary journey with an authentic and distinctive taste.
