Legend has it that the Guatavita Lagoon was the site of a sacred ritual conducted by the Muisca people, where the chief would be submerged in the water along with offerings of gold and emeralds. The ceremony was a tribute to the goddess of fertility and abundance, with the belief that the chief would emerge purified and blessed by the goddess.
At this juncture, you'll connect with nature, experience the wild and mystical páramo climate, and relish in breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes.
