Our captivating day begins in the vibrant heart of Salento, at its picturesque main park. From this charming spot, we set off towards a coffee farm to dive deep into the authentic realm of Colombian coffee.
We'll be traveling in the iconic Jeep Willys, locally known as yipao. This vehicle made its way to Colombia in 1946 and has since become an indispensable ally for the region's coffee growers. It effortlessly navigates the challenging roads that link the farms to the town and is capable of carrying over 600 kilos per trip.
Upon our arrival at the farm, we'll be introduced to the origins of coffee, uncovering the story behind each bean and understanding how this region has achieved global recognition for producing high-quality coffee.
We'll embark on a comprehensive tour of the plantation, witnessing every phase of the coffee production process, from planting to preparation.
