Tour Description
Our captivating journey begins in the Bomberos area, where a passionate local guide will warmly welcome us and lead us through Salento's most genuine corners, unveiling its essence prior to becoming a tourist hotspot.
Strolling along Sixth Street, we make our way to the iconic Main Square, where 191 years of history will be revealed. In Salento's vibrant heart, we delve into the park's symbols, from busts and plaques to the distinctive shapes that define this unique locale.
We proceed along the royal street, discovering places that serve as sanctuaries for locals, away from the bustling tourism. On this path, we explore traditional games, myths, legends, and the diverse elements that comprise Salento's rich architectural legacy.
Upon reaching the stairs leading to the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, we pause at one of the town's oldest houses and architectural landmarks. As we ascend, we delve into Salento's religious history, centered around devotion to the Virgin of Carmen, and uncover the projects that led to the creation of these iconic steps.
From Alto de la Cruz, we are treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of Salento, with the majestic church in the distance captivating countless visitors with its splendor. We descend towards the "Ecoparque Mirador," where we admire the Cocora countryside basin, home to the national tree: the Wax Palm.
Our descent continues along Fourth Avenue, leading us to the Photographic Museum, where images captured by local residents showcase Salento's evolution and transformation through time. This museum provides a unique perspective, allowing us to connect with history through photographs that narrate the stories of yesteryears.
We conclude our tour by returning to the royal street, where you'll have time to explore, shop for souvenirs, take photos, or enjoy other attractions that this charming town offers.
