Discover Cali through its most authentic flavors. In three days you will experience the most traditional Cali cuisine, the aromas of the best Colombian coffee and the winemaking tradition of Valle del Cauca.
You will start with a food tour through markets and local cuisines, tasting tropical fruits, ceviches, typical snacks and traditional drinks such as cholao and champús, while you delve into the daily life of the city.
On the second day, you will travel to a coffee farm surrounded by nature to discover the process of origin coffee, from planting to cup. On the last day, you will tour Hacienda El Paraíso, a colonial gem and literary inspiration, and then walk among vineyards to learn about the tropical wine that is born in these lands. This tour includes accommodation, private transfers to and from the airport, and all activities with a guide. Perfect for those who want to connect with the local culture through its cuisine, history, and traditions.
Tour Description
- Day 1 – Cali Flavors
In the afternoon, begin an unforgettable tour: the Cali Food Tour, a deep dive into the authentic flavors of Valle del Cauca. Accompanied by an expert local guide, you`ll visit the vibrant Gallery Alameda, one of the city`s most iconic markets, where you`ll taste tropical fruits such as lulo, chontaduro, and freshly squeezed sugarcane. The tour continues to representative sites of Cali`s flavor, such as the Plazoleta Jairo Varela and several traditional fish markets where you will taste ceviche, shrimp empanadas, and fish patacones.
Then you will delight in the famous "picadas caleñas," an explosion of flavors that includes pork rinds, pork, fried yuca, ripe plantain, and arepitas, accompanied by typical drinks such as the refreshing cholao or the traditional champús. The tour will close with a visit to a crafts shop so you can take a little piece of Cali with you. At the end of this afternoon full of aromas, textures, and culture, you will return to the hotel on your own to rest.
- Day 2 – Single Origin Coffee and Living Tradition
During the day, you will learn about the entire coffee process: from its history and cultivation to the harvesting, selection, drying, and roasting of the beans. You will walk through coffee plantations, spend time with farmers, and learn about the cultural and economic importance of coffee in Colombia. Then, you will enjoy a traditional lunch and participate in a coffee ritual, where you will prepare your own cup using artisanal methods. Back in Cali, you`ll have the afternoon free to relax or explore the city on your own.
- Day 3 – Vineyards and Valle del Cauca Legacy
At the end of the day, you`ll return to Cali, where a private transfer will take you from your hotel to the airport. You`ll say goodbye with a new vision of the Cauca Valley: full of history, flavors, aromas, and living culture.
