Our day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation at 8:00 AM. From Cartagena's center, we'll set off towards the Totumo Volcano.
Throughout the journey, our expert guide will provide insights into the history, geography, and culture of Colombia's Caribbean region. El Totumo is a natural marvel that challenges geological norms and is considered a sacred place, enveloped in myths and legends that speak of its healing powers for the body, mind, and spirit.
After a 90-minute drive, we'll reach Colombia's most renowned mud mound. Here, you'll receive guidance on safely descending into the crater and enjoying a therapeutic mud bath. Following approximately an hour at the volcano, you'll descend from the summit to wash off in the nearby lake. Locals will be on hand to assist travelers in removing the mud and refreshing themselves before we continue our tour.
Around 11:00 AM, we will head to the town of Galerazamba. We'll explore its streets, central square, and visit the Museum of Ethno-Industrial, where you'll learn about the salt industry and the everyday life of local communities.
We'll conclude the day with a delightful traditional lunch featuring options like fresh fish or chicken, rice, plantain, and salad.
Around 1:00 PM, we will return to Cartagena, dropping you off at your accommodation.
